Every wedding has a different feel and I know that “relaxed” gets thrown around often when describing so many weddings – this wedding really did have a nice relaxed feel about it. Sophie and Thomas planned their wedding around the waterfront at Davistown with a reception not a hundred metres away at the beautiful Stillwaters Restaurant.
The ceremony was just gorgeous in the shade of a massive tree on the waterfront with a slight breeze and a backdrop of blue water, blue sky and an occasional boat drifting past.
For the photos it was no rushing from location to location but a simple wander along the same waterfront and jetties with the bridal party and a couple of drinks. This was followed by a fantastic meal at a little gem of a restaurant with a large deck, bi-folding doors and a nice cooling breeze coming off the water.
As I left the reception I looked back to see the warm lights of the restaurant, silhouetted shapes of couples and groups chatting on the deck and a bunch of movers and groovers bouncing to the music on the dance floor – it looked like the end to a perfect day.

Sophie has the most incredible eyes!

Little Oscar was adorable and happy to get involved on the photos.

Oscar was made to feel very much a part of the cermony

I love this photo!
What a beautiful couple 🙂
Where is that gorgeous little house located?
It is a fantastic location for photos!
Hi Jody
Sophie and Thomas had their ceremony on the waterfront at Davistown and a lovely lady who lives there offered the girls her house for them to make final touch ups and to enter the reserve from the back of her house – this was the house.
It was such a lovely gesture, letting so many “strangers” through her house as there were bridesmaids, a dad, a photographer, a pageboy and a celebrant! As we left the house through the back gate to enter the ceremony I looked back and knew that we just had to use it for some photos.
What a beautiful wedding. Who did you have to ask to have the wedding on the waterfront? Did it coast much? Planning a wedding next year and want to have it there as well.
Hi Jess – thanks for the comment.
I’m not sure how much it cost but I believe under $100 and the area for the wedding has to be booked and reserved through Gosford Council. The council will usually do a clean up and even mow the grass for this fee.
As for the house, we simply asked the owners if they would mind if we took a few photos and they were more than happy to oblige. The lady owner there actually insisted that Sophie and the girls get dropped off at the front of her house before the wedding and came through the house and onto the reserve for the wedding.
It’s a beautiful spot for a wedding and a reception.
Good luck with your plans
Andrew
