During the reception at Crowne Plaza I was chatting to Emily’s Dad and I mentioned that it was so lucky that Grant and Emily found each other. There is something about the two of them that just says – everything is perfect when they are together. What a delight to photograph and what a feeling they evoke when anyone sees them together.
Here’s an email that Linda sent Emily and Grant after editing their images (something that she rarely does but felt compelled to after seeing these photos) : Hi Emily, just thought I’d send you a quick email – I’m going through your photos and I just got goosebumps – you guys look so happy together. Can’t wait for you to see them.
Photographing the boys earlier in the day was “head ache material” – a more rowdy and noisy bunch of blokes I have never met and the tiled floors throughout the apartment didn’t help. Pity anyone else looking for a relaxing morning in the same block of apartments. Needless to say, it was easy to get plenty of great images with the guys so “relaxed.”
It was a little different at the Crowne Plaza where the girls were making their preparations with canap???s, champagne, soft music and a quiet nervousness. Emily was simply stunning when she appeared in her gown and I’m pretty sure that’s when the butterflies kicked in.
The ceremony was held at the rear of the Lord Ashley Lounge which provided a magnificent view over Terrigal beach and the Haven through the floor to ceiling windows which surrounded the wedding party and guests. It was an intimate ceremony with beautiful readings from close family.
It wasn’t until Emily and Grant had each other in sight that I knew – this was perfect. They both literally lit up and that’s the way they stayed for the rest of the day.
It was nice to be able to use the Haven for some photos as the scheduled sinking of the ship was put on hold. We all had a great time at the shoot and made the most of the perfect weather at the headland and back in town.
The reception highlight for me were the speeches which had me crying with laughter and the beautiful voice of Grant’s sister as she brought the house down with an amazing song dedicated to her brother and Emily.
What a wedding, what a day – fantastic.
Awesome photos… who are those hotties??? We want more photos 🙂
Love Grant & Em
Haha – glad you like them.
