There really is something special about a Hunter Valley wedding. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s away from my usual surroundings, the countryside, the vineyards, or the style of weddings but one thing is certain – the wedding of Brooke and Borto was just perfect.
The day was centred around the Cypress Lakes Resort and golf course with a short trip to St Patricks Church in Nulkaba (a gorgeous sand stone chapel surrounded by beautifully tended gardens) for the ceremony and a little spot tucked away in the vineyards for some photos before the reception.
Both Borto, Brooke and their closest friends made their preparations in the villas that line the golf course on the resort and both had the music pumping when I turned up – a sign of the day to come that was to be filled with noise, laughter and good times.
The boys looked smart and the girls amazing which made capturing beautiful images a breeze! It always seems that time is so short when I have a bridal party like this one to photograph, just once I’d like to skip the ceremony and keep shooting – probably not much chance of that though. 🙂
St Patricks made for a perfect ceremony and the perfect location for a few photos afterwards but we were determined to capture some photos amongst the vines so off we went in search for somewhere to enjoy the view, a couple of champagnes and some canapés. It didn’t take long to find just a spot.
After some location photos I arrived at the reception to find a delightful garden setting laid out in front of the reception room filled with small groups of guests mingling and chatting between sipping drinks and being offered little creations of food that wouldn’t be out of place on the Masterchef set – it felt like walking into a fairytale.
The reception was off to a rocking start with a VERY excitable MC and continued with some great speeches, some great heckling and some great dancing – what a great day!
Congratulations guys, looking forward to seeing you both again soon.
Special thanks to Tanya and Lucas for referring Brooke and Borto to Impact after your wedding and thanks to Natalie from the Impact Newcastle studio for being invited to the wedding so I was the lucky one that was able to capture the day. If you have any more friends like like these I would love the chance to photograph their day.
I Love the silouette jumping photo, They look like they were a fun bunch.
