The Reef Restaurant at Terrigal Haven is the classiest venue for a wedding reception at Terrigal Haven and a great option for your wedding reception. Situated immediately above the beach, you and your guests will be seated 3 stories above the water and have more than 180 degree panoramic views of the ocean, headlands and Terrigal through a series of bi-fold windows that run the entire length of the restaurant.
If your wedding falls on a warm day, the staff are more than happy to open the windows to allow the sea breeze to flow into the restaurant which creates a fantastic atmosphere and a feeling of really being on the beach!
Once the sun sets, and the temperature drops, the windows close and the venue changes to a warm and cozy room with beautiful views across the water to Terrigal and the moored boats in the Haven, lit by two large flood lights that illuminate a wide expanse of beach and the bay. It’s not uncommon to see large stingrays feeding in the shallow floodlit shore during the evening.
It’s not only the views and setting that make The Reef Restaurant the fantastic wedding reception venue it is. The staff, service and food really are five star and not a combination easy to find on the Coast.
Below the restaurant is The Cove Cafe and Wine Bar which is the perfect option to book for your guests to have a drink, mingle and chat while you and your bridal party are off having photos with your photographer.
If your budget doesn’t extend that far, other close and good options for your guests to catch up and relax before your wedding reception are the Crowne Plaza Hotel where they will have the choice of the beer garden or the Lord Ashley Bar, on the first floor of the hotel and overlooking Terrigal beach. Terrigal Pub and Beer Garden are also close by but not walking distance like the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
What About The Cost?
The Reef Restaurant has a minimum hire fee of $10,000 (including food and drinks) but this amount will go up, depending on your food and drink choices plus the number of guests you have at your wedding. One hundred guests can be comfortably accommodated and I have seen a few more than that on occasion.
There are a few layout options available to you and the staff at the restaurant will be able to take you through the best options for the look, feel and numbers you’re looking at for your reception.
One big plus when using the Reef Restaurant for your reception is you will not require any room decorations, the room looks amazing as is. Simple classy table decorations are all that’s required for an amazing setting.
As mentioned in previous videos in this series, Terrigal Haven offers a number of options for your photography and all of these are close at hand – even walking distance, depending on your choice of heels.

The Reef Restaurant at Terrigal Haven – A Great Option for your Wedding Reception
Hey it’s Andrew Hellmich here from Impact Images. I’m just down below The Reef Restaurant. Now this is probably one of…well, this is the classiest place in the Haven to have a wedding. It is an amazing venue. It’s right up here beside me and you can see it’s upstairs. It’s got a fantastic view right over the Haven.
You’ll often see stingrays coming up in those nice big spotlights at nighttime. There’s boats just offshore here and you can see the lights at the Terrigal behind you on a wedding day.
It’s a fantastic location. The food here is second to none. The staff are amazing. The service is fantastic. The decor and the cutlery and the glasses, everything is just spot on here. It really does feel like a 5-star wedding if you’re looking at booking this place.
You’ve also got the Cove Cafe down below. It’s also a wine bar.
If you’re going all out, you can book the Cove for your guests to comeback to while you’re having your photos. They’ll comeback for canapes and drinks and have beers and wine and all that sort of things. It’s a great little option there.
If you don’t want to extend yourself or push your budget that far, you’ve also got the Beer Garden and Crowne Plaza. They are very close by. It’s a great spot for guests to go and have a drink.
They’ve also got the Terrigal Pub around the corner as well. So you’ve got a few popular spots to go to. But if you want to keep everyone nice and tight here, down below The Reef will be an excellent option.
Last time I spoke to the function coordinator at The Reef, there was a minimum charge of $10,000 to have your wedding there at The Reef. But like I said, it is an amazing place.
You’ll seat about a hundred people max. That’s what they say. I’ve seen a few more squash in there occassionally but a hundred is a pretty good number up in the restaurant.
A great spot to look at. Very very close to all the other places I’ve talked about for photography and also for your ceremonies as well. That’s The Reef Restaurant at Terrigal Haven.
