Terrigal Haven is one of the most popular Central Coast locations for wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions and locations or bridal party photography sessions and for good reasons.
The beauty of the Haven as a wedding ceremony location is the number of gorgeous options available to couples looking for a certain feel to their wedding day. Whether it’s the totally natural feel of a sandy beach, a rock platform with panoramic oceans views, one of the newly landscaped viewing platforms or the natural “amphitheatre” of Broken Head – you will find the perfect spot for your outdoor wedding ceremony at the Haven.
Wedding reception venues are peppered around Terrigal Haven and include the Reef Restaurant, The Trojans Hall, The Haven Cafe and only minutes away, the Crowne Plaza Hotel Terrigal Surf Club, Wamberal Surf Club and North Avoca Surf Club.
In addition, you’ll find plenty of accommodation options for your wedding guests or for your wedding preparations and wedding night.
The most popular being Star of The Sea Resort, Crowne Plaza and Terrigal Sails serviced apartments.
In this series of short videos, I’ll share what are the good and bad points of each of the locations the Haven has to offer from someone that has photographed scores of weddings here. Plus, learn why some locations are definitely better suited for your wedding day depending on wind direction, time of year, the tides and the style of wedding you are envisioning for your day.
Remember, you will need to reserve your wedding ceremony location with Gosford Council prior to your wedding day to ensure it is available for you.
There are two different applications you need to consider:
The first and most common application is a Passive Booking. This enables you to hold a gathering of up to eighty people for up to two hours. There is a nominal fee and applications are granted with the understanding that there will be no structures of any kind erected on the area applied for. This type of application does not give you exclusive use of the area.
Phone (02) 4325 8222 for bookings and more information.
The second type of application is a Special Event Application and applies to people who want exclusive use of an area. The event may be longer than two hours and structures such as seating or marquees may be applied for.
Be aware that marquees are not permitted in all locations.
You can download an application form from Council’s website at www.gosford.nsw.gov.au/arts-culture-and-recreation/parks-playgrounds-reserves/event-bookings/wedding-ceremonies or phone (02) 4325 8461 for more information.
Each of the following videos concentrates on each of the different wedding ceremony, location and reception options available for your Central Coast Wedding.

Terrigal Haven Wedding Options Intro
Hi it’s Andrew Hellmich here from Impact Images and welcome to another episode of the Wedding Photography Quick Tips.
I’m down here in Terrigal Haven. It’s probably one of the most popular spots on the Central Coast to have a wedding. There’s a ton of wedding reception venues close by. There’s also some great spots to have your wedding ceremony if you’re looking at an outdoor or beach ceremony, plus it’s a really popular spot to come for photos if you are getting married in the nearby chapels or a different location altogether.
So what I thought I’d do is I put together a few videos showing the best of the best in the area, why I think some of the spots are good, why some aren’t as good and what you need to consider if you are looking at booking some of these areas.
If you think you’d be having an outdoor ceremony at Terrigal Haven, you do need to reserve your spot or your location with Gosford Council. You need to make a booking. There’s different cost depending on the number of guests you have at your wedding. If it’s under 80 guests, it’s quite easy to get a booking. If over 80, you need to make a special booking and pay a little bit more.
I believe the costs are around $200 but you have to double check those with Gosford Council to make your reservation.
Alright, let’s have a little quick look around.
I’ll give you a little bit of idea. Where I am at the moment is right down at the waters edge on the beach next to the water at the Haven. Behind me we’ve got Haven Beach Café. Behind you we’ve got Reef Restaurant, a really popular spot for weddings and a real up-market classy restaurant. I have photographed some of the best weddings ever over at the Reef.
Not far from here is the footy field and just behind me is the Trojans Hall, another popular venue since its been done up. Over the other side of the hill here, I will run you through those areas too.
You’ve got Terrigal Surf Club down at the beach and also Crowne Plaza. There’s a couple of options there in Crowne Plaza and I’ll run you through those as well.
So let’s get stuck in and I’ll take you in the Haven and we’ll take a look on what’s on offer and we’ll see if there’s something suitable for you and for your wedding.
All right, talk to you shortly.
