Amateur or Professional Wedding Photographer… a challenge for engaged couples.
With many couples opting to have a friend or family member photograph their wedding, here’s a sure fire way to find out what’s best for you.
Book an engagement shoot with any professional photographer, then organise a 2nd shoot with your amateur photographer friend or family member. Compare the images and the experience.
You don’t even need to wear the same clothes or go to the same location.
It’s a simple test and you’ll be 100% sure you are doing the right thing for you and your wedding
For $100 or less, it’s a cheap solution to save you sleepless nights and convince your partner one way or the other.
And, for the record, I’m not suggesting that a professional wedding photographer will be the answer for you. If you find after your experience with two separate engagement photography sessions that you are perfectly happy with the results from your photographer friend – go with them by all means.
It’s up to you to weigh up the value of the images for your wedding. Nobody can do that… except you.
As a side note, this test is also a great way to decide between two professional wedding photographers if you really are torn. Book a shoot with each then decide. Simple.
Here’s a cool story inspired by the cousin of Melissa and Adrian who was shooting along side me at their wedding – worth a look: Melissa and Adrian have gorgeous wedding photos, mainly due to the photographer!
Not sure where to look for a professional photographer? Here’s an article that can help you decide (the last paragraph lists a bunch of recommended Central Coast wedding photographers) – His Rant, My Reply and the Truth of the Matter
What a great idea! And beautiful pictures by the way, especially the top one with the blurred landscape!
