From what I’ve heard and seen, the Newcastle wedding of Sarah, Cory and Jax was simply gorgeous. Natalie from our Newcastle studio was the lucky photographer that had the chance to share this amazing day. Seeing as I wasn’t there, I contacted Sarah to answer some questions about her day, what worked, what didn’t and some advice for anyone else planning their upcoming wedding in Newcastle.
What’s the story behind the two of you?
We met at a nightclub in Newcastle, not the most romantic idea of meeting someone! Following that night we have been inseparable; spending a night apart felt cruel. We have since accomplished so many goals together, such as buying a house, having our little boy and securing a new future in England.
Where was the wedding?
The Christ Church Cathedral and Novotel Newcastle
Were you going for a certain theme or style?
Interestingly enough I went for simple and elegant. Lots of white and champagne. I really wanted that pure and intimate feeling.
Was there a journey in finding your dress?
I was never the girl to dream about my wedding or have an idea about my dress. Besides waiting months for an appointment in Sydney, my journey was anything but complicated. I knew which dress I wanted from a picture and when I tried it on, it was perfect! It wasn’t until that moment that I knew it was my perfect dress.
What about your shoes?
I chose a dolly wood design pump heel trimmed with ivory satin and embellished with diamantes all up the heel. Simply stunning!
Can you tell me about your jewellery and accessories?
I wore all Swarovski jewellery, beautiful drop earrings and a simple bracelet. I was originally wearing a big Swarovski jeweled encrusted necklace however it broke two days before the wedding so I had to do a rush shop for new jewellery. The end product was amazing!
Who did your hair and makeup?
My hair was done by my beautiful friend Laura who works at Aqua Hair Salon in The Junction, Newcastle. The make up was by Anne Beal. She is one talented lady!
The Groom – what style of suits, did you buy or hire etc?
Cory went with simple black pants, white shirt and black skinny tie. He purchased his suit for a keepsake.
Your flowers looked amazing, who did them?
Tanya from Angel Blooms Florist was my choice for flowers.
And the cake?
Sandra from Absolutely Cakey – this was a gift from my family friends Natalie and Kerry – thank you xx
Invitations and Stationery?
I made my own invitations and stationery
What did you do for your Bomboniere?
We had a candy buffet and everyone received a box to fill as their bomboniere.
Is there one special moment you’d like to share about the day?
Jax, our son, stole the show when he walked down the aisle with our flower girl Lexi.
Did you have a Honeymoon?
Yes, we went to Hawaii for 12 nights and it was absolute bliss.
What’s the most important piece of advice you would like to share with other brides to be?
Just relax and take it moment by moment as the day goes by so quickly. You forget to take in the little things.
Do you have a favourite photo?
Yes, I love the black and white photo of Cory that Natalie posted on Facebook. It’s stunning and natural at the same time. Natalie did a great job to capture the candid photo.
How was the photography part of the day?
Natalie was fantastic, it was easy to see that her experience has made her a fabulous photographer. She had great direction and time management skills. I would recommend her to any future bride!
Thanks so much Sarah for sharing the details of your wedding – all of us at Impact Images wish you, Cory and Jax a fun, happy and long future.
