It’s always special to be invited to photograph a portrait but it seems extra special when I’m asked to photograph someone late in their third trimester. By this time, the soon to be mums are feeling pretty uncomfortable and there are some serious body changes happening and they aren’t usually feeling too much like a photo shoot.
I can’t go on too much about pregnancy shoots as this is one thing I didn’t do when Linda (my wife) was pregnant with either of our two boys – and I am made to pay with major guilt trips every time she sees the photos from someone else’s shoot. Linda says it’s her biggest regret not having those photos done as it was such a special time for her. I do remind her that I tried a couple of times but she wouldn’t let me anywhere near her with a camera after eight months of pregnancy. No matter – it’s still my fault!
So, yesterday was a real surprise when Cassie and Andrew arrived for their shoot as they were more than happy to get into the photography. Cassie had some specific ideas that she had in mind and it was great trying to capture those idea while still adding my spin.
They are so excited about their new baby and I’m sure they are going to make wonderful parents – I can’t wait for the new-born shoot!
Below is a sneak preview for them and you.
I love these photos! I will have to get in touch when my fiancĂ©e and I decide to have kids… The last one is gorgeous! Do you do fashion shoots for models?
Thanks for your lovely comment Tammerly! I’d love to hear from you when you decide to have kids.
As for model/fashion shoots – would you believe I am in the process of putting up a price list and sample image page on my website; impact-images.com.au. Stay tuned to the blog or twitter, it’ll be before Christmas. If you need any information before then, let me know.
Thanks again for your comment, speak soon
