Recently in Sydney, the national and highly coveted awards for photographers known as the APPA’s were hosted by the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP). Although I didn’t get there in person this year, both Natalie and Ash were there to witness the print judging in person and to see both Natalie and I receiving awards for our entries.
Not only that, Ash volunteered to be one of the ‘crew’ that make this huge event happen. Below are some of Ash’s photos of APPA plus a few of our print entries.

The APPA’s are a huge event that host the print awards plus hundreds of photographic exhibitors that in turn attract all style of photographers from all over the country.

Ash Hughes – “exhibitionist” – who would have known.

Do you think Ash is happy to have her accreditation?

A very small sample of the print cases that are required to mail award prints to the the APPA’s.

The behind the scenes work of print sorting and cataloguing.

Below are a few of Nats award prints as she marches toward her Masters.

A small display of some awarded prints.

Not sure what’s going on here… not a lot by the look of it.

A few of my award prints from this years competition.
Such an amazing experience!! Can’t wait to go again next year…and just to clarify…the photo where you aren’t sure what is happening, we are of course pretending to judge…that’s why we have the comfy chairs and microphones! and please let the record show that the quality of the images is poor because they are off my phone, and not due to my lack of skill as a photographer haha 🙂
