Looking for hints and tips on how to have the perfect wedding! Kelly and Shane were recently married at Noonaweena on a spectacular summers day and I asked Kel a bunch of questions about, Shane, the wedding and everything that went into making it so good. Below are her replies on what was one of the best days of her life!
Shane enjoys telling the story of how I picked him up at a club! We took time to get to know one another and soon realised we had found something special. We’ve now shared 11 years together with many life experiences along the way. Travelling and working abroad, settling in our home and our most treasured gift of all, the birth of our first baby boy, Jack, with another on the way! In 2009 Shane surprised me with a proposal at Rainbow Bay, our favourite holiday destination.
The ceremony and reception for our wedding was held at Noonaweena, Kulnura. It was the most beautiful, tranquil setting, surrounded by natural bushland and mesmerising mountain views. We knew without a doubt that this was the perfect venue!
We wanted to create a relaxed environment and spoil our guests for being a big part of our lives. Our wedding was a celebration of what we already have and for what the future holds!

Here’s Jack stealing my attention during the ceremony.
After months of searching for the perfect gown around the Central Coast and Newcastle I ended up finding my dress at Fashions by Farina in Sydney and knew it was the one! The shoes were from Panache Bridal in the Dymocks Building, flower worn in hair was from Bridal in the Dymocks Building, earrings from Shazam in Toronto and my grandmother’s ring worn on my right hand was given to my as a surprise by my aunty on my hens day.
On the other hand it took Shane and the boys half an hour to choose their outfits! They were decked out in RM Williams and looking ruggedly handsome.

Kelly sure wasn’t a difficult bride to photograph… she is stunning!

Shane and the fellas weren’t hard work either… very relaxed, on the outside anyway.
Lee Hanly was the make up artist. I knew and last saw Lee about 7 years ago and always hoped that I could get in touch with her again for my wedding and lucky enough that’s just what happened. Lee is not only talented but a beautiful person too. Lee recommended Hairdresser, Natalie from Pompinos at Toukley who was equally as skilled as Lee. From the time they arrived on the day they worked brilliantly together and had fun with us girls on the day!
I was pleasantly surprised on the day of my wedding with real frangi’s!! I had ordered these from Central Coast Florist in Gosford and knew that I would have a hard time getting real frangi’s in early December but believe that this florist went out of her way to provide me with real ones – thank you! Especially given that it is a family tradition that we have frangi’s as our flowers.

Lucky to have frangipanis early December!
The cake was divine thanks to Julie at The Sweetest Things at Terrigal. I had a two tier cake, one layer was chocolate and the other layer was white chocolate. Everybody raved about how good it was!
I used Something Fabulous at Somersby for the invitations and bomboniere. Lynn and Candee were extremely helpful and even personally delivered part of the bomboniere to me – very kind!
H&H Catering did a wonderful job on the day with canapes, entree and main. They were organised and food was very good. The Little Pub Co took care of the beverages and provided a great service to our guests!!
Our wedding day was more than we had ever imagined. There were so many great moments during our wedding. I will say our vows were the most important and cherished part of the day. Our first dance under the stars was also a beautiful moment.

The most cherished part of the day for Kel and Shane.
Also, it would not have been the day it was without our family and dear friends and we do thank them for that.
One last thing!.. the venue, Noonaweena, was absolutely spectacular with a beautiful sunny day and a sunset even our guests will not forget.

Noonaweena is a spectacular location for a wedding.

An outdoor reception with beautiful vista and a soon to be sunset.
We went on a two week honeymoon to Moreton Island and Rainbow Bay, our favourite beach where the proposal took place. We were on a high for days talking about our memorable moments.
Most important advice… Shane and I felt like we took in every moment of our wedding day. After all the planning and organising that goes into the wedding, the most important thing is that it is about yourself and your bride or husband to be and sharing your vows together with your friends and family.
Andrew, you were sensational on the day. You guided and directed the photography in a very professional manner. I loved the camera on the day, haha, dressed in a beautiful gown with hair and make up done, so much fun. Thank you!!

Congratulations guys – I can’t wait for you to see the rest of your photos!
Absolutely stunning!!!!! So beautiful! Congratulations Shane and Kel! xxxx
