I was sorting and cataloguing some images when I came across a few photos that I wanted to share. I am always going on about how important photos are and the amount of joy that images, especially of our loved ones can bring. Below are a few of these special photos to me – photos that instantly bring a smile to my face and literally warm me from the inside.
These photos aren’t all technically great, the lighting may not be perfect, the framing not really considered and some aren’t even taken by me but that’s not the point of these images. They take me back to a fantastic family holiday in Adelaide earlier this year.
On my 40th birthday (yes, believe it or not – I am actually 40) my beautiful wife Linda blew me away with a superbly kept secret present of a family trip to Adelaide to watch the Tour Down Under, Australia’s biggest cycling event.
Although the cycling was fantastic, the race a great spectacle it was the family time that I cherish the most and that is where the photos take me.

We “stalked” the riders at their hotel before one of the stages – not sure who enjoyed it more, me, the boys or Linda…

Jordan up close to a stack of bikes each valued at around $20,000

The boys with some of the all-time biggest names in Australian cycling.

Mark Cavendish – the fastest man on two wheels – cruising around the hotel foyer before the start of a stage.

Family holiday = good times.

No, that’s not Jordan’s beer!

Linda and I getting in on the “groupie” action with Paul Sherwyn.

Adelaide was a perfect destination for a family holiday… and a bike race.

It wasn’t all serious racing – I had money on the blue guy.

Some of the local “heavies”

After all that hard racing it was off to pick strawberries in the local village of Hahndorf.

I’ve photographed many, many weddings and have never come across a more perfect wife than mine.

Jordan lost his favourite hat in a gust of wind from the jetty and Linda went in to save the day!

What?… I had to stay on the jetty and direct her to the hat.

BEAUTIFUL Andrew…… Those photos are what a family is and what a an amazing one you have…..xxx
Thanks Sallyanne – everyday I wake up and think just how lucky I am!
