Work calls to say you don’t need to come in today, have the day off. Would you still go in? I’m guessing no. I’m also guessing that’s why I’m so damn lucky to be doing what I love to do for work.
I had a wedding booked last Saturday. The wedding was cancelled close to the date, too late to get rebooked. The perfect opportunity to have a Saturday in Summer off… it doesn’t happen all that often.
Then I get a Facebook message from a Queensland based model looking to do a shoot – Bonnie Jaqueline. I had Saturday free, so did Bonnie and we made it happen with some help from the amazing Kel-Leigh of Kel-Leigh Couture in East Gosford.
A potential day off quickly became the perfect opportunity to do some more work. Cool!
Bonnie’s message came late, too late to organise a make up artist and hair stylist so she took care of that and did a fantastic job while I had the task of sourcing the fashion and an assistant for the shoot.
Kel-Leigh gave me the choice of gowns in store; one wedding, one evening number was plenty for the shoot. A post to Facebook later and we had an assistant in Ksenija, an upcoming and super enthusiastic photographer.
Below are a selection of my favourites from the shoot.

And if you’re thinking of putting together a modelling portfolio or a photography session like this for yourself, you can get more information about this style of shoot on the impact images page for Central Coast Model Photography and Portfolios.
